Third weekend already! Hard to believe. This weekend was a Sunday-only one for me due to a surprise birthday party I attended on Saturday. (Happy Birthday, Girl!) First off, the weather was infinitely nicer than last weekend and the place was pretty crowded. Evidentially Saturday was even busier. I decided to bring my 10x zoom Olympus instead of my tiny 3x zoom Nikon and was a bit crazy with the pictures as you can see over on flickr. I caught "Barely Balanced" again and I WILL catch their fire show at some point in the next two weeks before they’re gone! The surprise of the weekend was a chance encounter with Melodio from the Minstrels of Mayhem (AHEM!), sitting under a tree just playing and singing. It was a very nice change of pace. He performed a couple of tunes they don’t normally play in the regular Minstrels’ shows, "Wishes", "Amarilis’ Secret" and "Two Sisters". "Richard III" with Moonie and Shakespeare was their best yet! I laugh harder and harder each time I see it. As I was heading to my car, a heron flew very low over the parking lot and right over my car (no, it didn’t leave me a present). It landed in the overflow parking lot and I was able to get an okay shot from a distance. Since I was only there on Sunday the day went too quickly and it’s going to be a LONG week before the next one!
